The Farmington Hills Police are pleased to announce the renewal of a program designed to place bicycle safety helmets where they belong, on the heads of the boys and girls of Farmington Hills. Once again, the Department has purchased a number of helmets to be distributed to young residents, beginning Monday, May 19, 2008. Through this special program, the helmets are made available to children who may not otherwise be able to obtain a helmet.
The helmets will be distributed 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week at the Command desk located in the Police Department Headquarters at 31555 Eleven Mile Road. A parent or legal guardian must accompany any child seeking a helmet and show proof of Farmington Hills residency.
Last year the Farmington Hills Police Department gave away more than 600 helmets to children in the community. For additional information, please contact the Command desk at 248-871-2610.
